Meet the 'Bold & Beast' Muse
We live in an era where the world expects you to think like a god, act like a lady and work like a horse. So, it’s all about finding your own niche where you possess superhuman capabilities. For me, that niche is Accounts. I’m a Senior Audit Manager at KPMG. For 14 years, I have been in this cutthroat system that has zero room for error. And quite frankly, I’m winning at the game.
I wouldn’t say that I’m a workaholic but I get as excited thinking about my professional goals as about my social relationships. Think of me as someone who decides what to order when I’m out dining, and how to lead when I’m in a corporate meeting. Being competitive is in my DNA. My laptop, always found in my handbag, is my most essential possession and coffee, my most reliable companion.
It’s not easy being me but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My management knows things are under control when I’m assigned a task. So, they have no fear before dropping me into high-pressure situations and I never disappoint them and always deliver. I have a theory that there is a wonder woman in each of us and she is exactly who I summon when work pushes me to my limits. I learnt the art of delegation long back and oftentimes, that helps. Also, I run by the rule that no matter how much work I have, I never have more than one meal at my desk.
People tell me I do tend to be extreme but I like to call it being meticulous. I am an all-or-nothing kind of person. It’s the only way to do stuff if you want to be the best, and it’s the only way to make your mark and stand out from the rest. I am not bossy or a control freak. Well, mostly not. I may have a case of OCD. But I think I am just a Scorpio who likes things to proceed her way. You may feel like I’m someone who is on the verge of forgetting what fun looks like. But that means you haven’t seen me on Sundays at the golf course. I am a free spirit that cannot be categorised or siloed. I am bold and the beast, take it or leave it.
